Greater Lansing Linux User Group

April 7th, just barely!

So, last ConCom meeting before the con was this past Saturday, and this entry mostly talks about progress there, and my general meaderings about the con.

Got some pretty 1/4 page fliers that should be showing up all over town soon, thanks to our Head of Ops, who should also possibly be showing up at the next meeting! I took home some fliers too, but mine ended up being plastered around Windsor. If I kept any, I'll bring them on Thursday.

Biggest news that affects us so far, is that apparently, we might get access to the room for setup a lot earlier. The hotel is setting up the basic tables and chairs, and they should be starting that as early as 12:30. So we should be good to go to start setting up computer before 2pm. Yay. :) So, plan for it.

The InstallFest times should be etched in print by now as 9-11, 1-3 and 5-7 on Saturday. I have a prototype info page up at Node 69. Yeah, you can't BUY luck like mine. :) I do definitely need help editing this puppy, but this is the URL that people will be sent to from the program book.

Prereg for the con closed at the end of March, so hopefully everyone is all registered. If you're not, you can get in at the door. Hotel space is VERY impossible, though. The main hotel is full. The overflow hotel is full. The SECOND overflow hotel is pretty much full. There's a 4th one, but I'm not sure where. :) On the other hand, there's always crash space for volunteers. :)

My room? Nuh-uh, buddy, I'm a few staggering steps from the non-smoking ConSuite. :) Is MY room. :) I even have a balcony. :) Over an ENTRANCE! :) What FOR? Um, er....to watch the world pass by from. :) Yeah, that's it.

Anyone know where I can get balloons cheap, wholesale? :)
