Learning VI
As a follow-up to Chick's excellent Linux Command Line class, I will be teaching a class on using the vi editor on Thursday, November 5, 2009. Vi is ugly, evil, and absolutely essential to becoming a UNIX power user. Because ugly though it may be, it's also fast and it's the only editor you can count on being present in an emergency situation. The executable is only 270k, and you can run it on a 300 baud connection.

Class begins at 6:30, and is planned to run until about 7:30, with plenty of time afterward for questions and answers.
You should bring a laptop computer, ideally with a wired network connection (provisions will be made for those with wireless only).
Resources are limited to 14 users.
