Beer Expedition
While we made a valiant effort, we really didn't make enough beer this year to properly stock a party. We're going to need to buy a keg. To do that, we need to actually sample some beer to see what we like.
What I want to avoid is another stout, because we already have a couple that we'll be serving. The plan is to go to Frankenmuth on April 10th, at 4pm, and sample at least the offerings of Frankenmuth Brewery, and then hopefully on to Black Forest, which made the excellent Scottish Ale that we served two years ago.
At Frankenmuth Bewery, I'm most interested in the Munich Dunkel and the Winter Bock. Under previous ownership that brewery was justifiably famous for the quality of both of those beers, and the last time I sampled the Munich Dunkel I was impressed with its quality.
Also in the running is Michigan Brewing's dark lager. While I don't think that Michigan Brewing overall is on a par with either of the Frankenmuth breweries, it's good to keep an open mind and sample widely.
